Tell me about your materials. Are they ethically sourced?
We purchase all of our raw metals directly from a company out of New Mexico that sources from refiners on the LBMA. This means that materials are traceable and conflict free. Recycled materials are used whenever possible. Rio Grande strives to move beyond compliance in the responsible use of the shared resources that sustain our planet. Solar panels have powered our 180,000-square-foot facility since 2010, resulting in net-zero energy consumption. Ethical sourcing is a guiding principle for our business, from recycled fabrication metals to mine-to-market gemstones.

How do I prevent my jewelry from tarnishing?
Tarnishing, also known as oxidation, is caused when oxygen or sulfur comes in contact with sterling silver. It gives it a darker color. Sometimes, sterling silver is intentionally oxidized to create depth and certain details on a piece of jewelry.
How should I store my jewelry?
Oxygen in the air will tarnish Sterling Silver, so properly storing your jewelry will help minimize that oxidation. Here are some storage tips:
Store individual pieces separately.
Store each piece in an airtight bag.
Place in an area with low humidity.
Keep clasps/closures unhooked.
Place a packet of silica or piece of chalk in the storage bag.
Can I wear my jewelry all the time?
Wearing your Sterling Silver jewelry regularly can actually help prevent tarnishing since the oils from your body have a cleaning effect. However, some activities can accelerate tarnishing. You should remove your Sterling Silver jewelry before doing any of the following:
Using household cleaning supplies.
Cooking with mustard, onions, eggs, or any other foods that contain sulfur.
Putting on Lotion and Makeup
How do I clean my jewelry?
Polishing Sterling Silver is typically the best way to clean your Sterling Silver jewelry. Be sure to do the following:
Use a special non-abrasive cloth to avoid scratching.
Frequently rotate to a new section of the cloth.
Avoid areas that are intentionally oxidized.
Do not rub in a circular pattern, follow the grain of the silver.
Order Issues & Shop Policies
How do I start a return or exchange?
We have a 24 hour return for store credit policy, which means you have 24 hours from delivery of your item to request a return. To be eligible for store credit, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. To start a return for store credit, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If your return is accepted, you are responsible for return shipping, insurance and tracking must be included. A shipping cost of $10 will be subtracted from your store credit. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You can always contact us for any return question at email@example.com.
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not for store credit. If approved, you’ll have 24 hours to use your store credit for in stock items only and minus $10 shipping fee. Store credit is surrendered after the 24 hour period
Certain types of items cannot be returned, including custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
What do I do if there is an issue with my order?
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

How does your earring subscription box work?
We send an invoice to your email on the 10th of each month, customers must accept automatic payments, and we ship on the 12th of each month. Cost is $35 for the subscription plus $5 for shipping. The earrings typically value from $35-$45 and we throw in surprises to show our appreciation every now and then.
Can I give the subscription as a gift?
Absolutely! Sign the recipient up for one month or a few! After that, they can choose to renew on their own if they wish.
When will I receive my first box?
Boxes ship out on the 12th of each month. If the 12th falls on a holiday, weekend, or bank holiday, the boxes will ship on the next business day.
Shipping typically takes 2-4 days but please be understanding of the shipping “delays” that are becoming more frequent.
