Each feather creation is hand-forged in sterling silver using traditional silversmithing tools, shaped with intention and guided by generations of silversmithing knowledge. These works reflect a lifelong study of form, balance, and movement—translated from nature into metal through precise hand-forged practice.
A Specialization Passed Through Generations
Emily Dicob, third-generation silversmith and founder of Sterling Roots, specializes in feather forms. Her work is informed by both close observation and family lineage. Inspiration is drawn directly from real feathers—studied for their structure, taper, rhythm, and organic variation. This specialization traces back to her grandfather, Butch Bramhall of Stonehouse Silversmiths, whose feather work became a defining part of his legacy. That foundation continues today—refined, evolved, and carried forward through Sterling Roots.

Each feather is individually formed by hand—never cast, never duplicated. Subtle variations in line, texture, and dimension are intentional, honoring the individuality found in nature itself. Scale, structure, and execution vary by piece, reflecting the demands of the form and the hand-forged process behind it.
