This one-of-a-kind Oro River ring is forged in argentium silver and accented with flowing 18K gold elements that move across the surface like a river cutting through terrain. The contrast between oxidized silver and warm gold creates depth and movement across the wide band. Built in our Adirondack artisan jewelry studio, the ring carries sculptural presence while maintaining balanced wearability through its adjustable form.
Architectural Form & Scale
The ring is constructed with a wide, substantial band that provides a strong visual profile across the finger. The structure gradually tapers toward the underside, creating a comfortable interior fit while maintaining the bold scale of the upper surface.
The flowing gold formation travels across the band in an organic path, establishing visual movement across the silver foundation. The width of the ring allows the metal composition to read clearly while maintaining balanced proportions.
The adjustable design preserves structural stability while accommodating a range of sizes.
Material Composition & Visual Impact
The ring combines argentium silver with 18K gold in a striking mixed-metal composition. The oxidized silver deepens the background tone, allowing the gold pathway to stand out with clarity and warmth.
The gold element moves across the band like a river channel through stone, producing a landscape-like surface with dynamic visual flow. Light interacts differently with each metal, creating contrast and dimensional presence across the ring.
This interplay of metals gives the piece both visual strength and refined detail.
Forging Discipline
This ring was shaped and refined at the bench using traditional silversmithing tools. The argentium silver band was forged to establish the width, taper, and curvature before the gold element was integrated into the composition.
Each surface was refined to maintain clarity between the metals while preserving the organic movement that defines the Oro River design. The oxidized finish enhances depth and highlights the contrast between silver and gold.
