This one-of-a-kind sterling silver statement cuff presents a commanding architectural presence built around eleven natural amethyst stones. The composition forms a continuous arc of stone and silver across the wrist, anchored by a scalloped central structure that establishes visual gravity and symmetry. Produced as a singular studio work, this cuff will not be recreated and stands as part of the rare Masterwork output from the Sterling Roots bench.
Architectural Form & Presence
The cuff is structured as a broad, balanced arc designed to carry visual authority across the wrist. Eleven stones form a deliberate sequence from edge to edge, creating a continuous horizontal footprint that emphasizes scale and proportion.
A scalloped central element anchors the composition, widening the visual center of the bracelet while maintaining balanced spacing between the surrounding stones. Substantial 10-gauge sterling silver perimeter work reinforces the architecture of the cuff, giving the bracelet both visual weight and structural stability.
The result is a cuff that sits with presence on the wrist—broad in span, balanced in form, and intentional in its distribution of material and stone.
Material Composition & Visual Impact
The bracelet features eleven amethyst stones arranged in a disciplined sequence across the cuff. Each stone is framed in a scalloped sterling silver bezel, introducing a repeating structural motif that connects every element of the design.
Sterling bead accents are placed between each setting, creating rhythm and controlled spacing throughout the piece. This measured arrangement allows the stones to read as a unified field rather than isolated elements.
The heavy sterling silver perimeter establishes the framework of the cuff while the scalloped center plate adds dimensional depth to the composition. The violet tones of the amethyst contrast cleanly with the silver structure, allowing the stones to maintain visual clarity within the architectural layout.
Bench Practice & Studio Discipline
This cuff was developed through direct bench work using traditional silversmithing tools in the Sterling Roots studio in the Adirondack Mountains. Each element—from the heavy 10-gauge perimeter structure to the scalloped bezels—was shaped and assembled through deliberate hand-forged metalwork.
The layout of eleven stones required careful structural planning to maintain alignment, spacing, and balance across the curved cuff form. Each bezel was individually formed and fitted before final assembly, ensuring consistency throughout the full span of the bracelet.
The result reflects disciplined bench practice: measured construction, structural integrity, and precise stone setting developed through traditional silversmithing techniques.
