This one-of-a-kind sterling silver cuff brings together natural amethyst and dimensional, nature-inspired silverwork. A substantial free-form amethyst anchors the top center of the bracelet, accompanied by a sculptural hummingbird and solid sterling silver bead accents. Along the lower side, a three-layer hand-forged flower adds depth and balance to the composition.
Built as a statement cuff, the design carries detail across the wrist rather than concentrating every element around the center stone.
Scale & Substance
Built to fit a wrist circumference of approximately 6.75–7.25 inches, this cuff has a substantial presence while maintaining an open, balanced composition.
The free-form amethyst establishes the primary focal point, while the hummingbird, silver beadwork, and layered flower extend the design outward. The offset placement of the flower creates visual movement across the cuff and allows each hand-forged element to remain distinct.
Stone & Material Character
At the top center sits a genuine free-form amethyst, selected for its rich purple coloration and individual natural form. Visible inclusions are present within the stone and are part of the natural character of this particular amethyst.
The purple stone is surrounded by sterling silver details that introduce both texture and dimension. A hummingbird rests alongside the setting with solid sterling silver bead accents, while the three-dimensional flower provides a substantial sculptural counterpoint lower in the composition.
Oxidation settles into the recessed areas of the silverwork, defining the individual layers, contours, and forged details.
Studio Process
This cuff is bench-forged silver, constructed through detailed handwork at the Sterling Roots studio bench. The setting is individually formed around the free-form amethyst before the hummingbird and bead accents are incorporated into the composition.
The flower is constructed from three individual layers of sterling silver, each formed and shaped by hand before being assembled into a dimensional bloom. Its offset placement is designed to balance the center stone and hummingbird while allowing the cuff to carry detail across a broader portion of the wrist.
The completed bracelet is oxidized and selectively refined to emphasize depth throughout the silverwork.
