This one-of-a-kind ring features an oval Bisbee turquoise set east-west in hand-forged sterling silver. Built in our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools, the turquoise is framed in a scalloped bezel and positioned over a wrapped split shank that gives the ring added dimension and structure. The horizontal setting allows the Bisbee turquoise to stretch naturally across the hand, keeping the stone firmly at the center of the design.
Form & Proportion
The oval turquoise is positioned east-west for a broad, balanced profile across the finger. Beneath the stone, the sterling silver shank splits and wraps through the design, creating movement while providing a substantial foundation for the setting.
The scalloped bezel introduces a defined silver edge around the turquoise, contrasting with the flowing lines of the wrapped band and emphasizing the oval shape of the stone.
Materials & Method
Forged from solid sterling silver, the ring is formed and refined entirely at the bench. The scalloped bezel is individually shaped around the genuine Bisbee turquoise cabochon, while the split shank is hand-formed and wrapped into position before the components are joined through traditional silversmithing techniques.
The result is a structurally strong ring that balances distinctive turquoise with intentional silverwork and visible hand-forged detail.
