Forged in our Adirondack jewelry studio, this one-of-a-kind silver jewelry piece brings together sterling silver, natural turquoise, and authentic black bear claws in a disciplined, hand-built composition. Designed for a 1.5-inch belt, this handcrafted silver belt buckle reflects intentional bench work, balanced form, and a refined interpretation of the untamed.

Form & Wearability
Measuring 2.5 inches wide by 2 inches high, this buckle carries strong visual presence without excess weight. The proportions are deliberate—broad enough to anchor a belt with authority, yet scaled for daily wear.
Two black bear claws create a natural focal point. A swooping sterling silver feather curves alongside one claw, while turquoise and silver river rock detailing introduce contrast and depth. The buckle is engineered to be belted from either the right or left side, offering functional flexibility within a structured silhouette.

Material & Studio Practice
Created as part of our hand-forged sterling silver jewelry collection, this buckle was shaped and assembled at the bench using traditional silversmithing tools and hands-on forming techniques.
Each sterling silver element was individually cut, forged, and refined to integrate seamlessly with the natural bear claws and turquoise accents. The composition reflects careful alignment, proportion control, and disciplined tool work.
As with all artisan sterling silver from Sterling Roots, no molds or duplication processes are used. The form is built intentionally, one piece at a time.
