This one-of-a-kind sterling silver pendant is built with movement, elevation, and layered structure. An assortment of blue cabochons—apatite, labradorite, and aquamarine—are arranged in a Boulder Ridge formation, stacked and offset to create depth and flow across the surface.
The composition reflects the natural settling of boulders along a mountainside, translated into a refined, bench-forged silver form.
Scale & Substance
Measuring approximately 1.5 inches, this pendant carries a balanced presence with noticeable dimension. The layered stone arrangement creates depth without excess bulk, allowing the piece to remain fluid while maintaining visual strength.
Its structure is designed to move naturally when worn, with each element contributing to a cohesive, flowing form.
Stone & Material Character
Blue apatite introduces vibrant saturation, while labradorite adds shifting flashes of blue and green. Aquamarine brings a lighter, more translucent tone, completing a spectrum of blues within the composition.
Each stone is set within a semi-framed structure, allowing the edges and contours of the stones to remain visually active. The combination of tones and surfaces creates contrast, depth, and variation throughout the piece.
Studio Process
This pendant is bench-forged silver, constructed through layered handwork at the studio bench. Each stone is set at an intentional angle, building upward to achieve the Boulder Ridge formation.
The semi-frame structure is shaped and refined to support the stones while maintaining openness and flow. Every element is aligned and finished with precision, ensuring balance between movement and structure.
