Boulder Ridge Sunstone & Garnet Sterling Silver Pendant

This one-of-a-kind sterling silver pendant is built with scale, elevation, and structural depth. A large purple sunstone anchors the composition, framed and elevated with dimensional silverwork, while a marquise garnet is set above in layered alignment—forming a Boulder Ridge structure that reflects natural stacking and movement.

Scale & Substance

Measuring just under 2 inches, this pendant carries a strong, grounded presence with noticeable weight. The layered composition creates vertical depth, while the scale of the sunstone establishes a commanding focal point.

The structure is supported by a larger bail, designed to pair with heavier chains (recommended 16-gauge), allowing the piece to sit with balance and stability when worn.

Stone & Material Character

The oval purple sunstone introduces depth and subtle variation, set in a straight bezel and surrounded by a heavy, hammered three-dimensional frame that amplifies its presence.

Above, a genuine marquise garnet adds contrast through its deep tone and elongated form. It is set in a straight bezel and accented with a flowing silver element along one side, reinforcing the sense of movement within the composition.

A sculpted leaf detail integrates into the structure, adding a natural directional element that connects both stones.

Studio Process

This pendant is bench-forged silver, constructed through layered handwork at the studio bench. The Boulder Ridge formation is achieved by setting stones at varying elevations and angles, building upward to create dimension and flow.

Each bezel is formed to its stone, while the hammered frame, leaf accent, and supporting elements are shaped and refined through controlled tool work. The final composition reflects precision in alignment, weight distribution, and structural integrity.
