Bowtie & Double Cable Sterling Silver Chain Link Bracelet

This one-of-a-kind sterling silver bracelet combines substantial chainmaking with handmade glass and layered silver detail. A handmade glass centerpiece anchors the composition, finished with a hand-wrapped sterling silver accent and connected into a heavy chain of individually formed bowtie links and double cable connections.

Built for a wrist circumference of approximately 6.5–7 inches, the bracelet carries substantial weight and structure while retaining the articulation of a hand-built chain.

Scale & Substance

This is a heavy-duty chain link bracelet, built with substantial sterling silver components designed to carry presence around the entire wrist.

The bowtie links establish the dominant form, while paired cable links create flexible connections between them. This alternating construction gives the bracelet a strong rhythm of solid form and open space while allowing the chain to articulate naturally around the wrist.

Stone & Material Character

Handmade glass introduces color and surface variation at the center of the bracelet, contrasting against the weight and darker definition of the oxidized sterling silver.

A hand-wrapped sterling silver detail follows the glass, integrating it visually into the surrounding chain rather than treating the centerpiece as a separate element. The oxidized finish settles into the wrapped detail and forged links, emphasizing their contours and construction.

Studio Process

This bracelet is bench-forged silver, constructed link by link at the Sterling Roots studio.

The heavy bowtie links are individually formed and refined before being joined with double cable links, creating a substantial articulated chain. The handmade glass element is incorporated with a hand-wrapped silver detail that carries the character of the chainmaking into the centerpiece.

After assembly, the bracelet is oxidized and selectively refined to emphasize the depth, connections, and hand-worked surfaces throughout the silver.
