Hand-forged in the Adirondack foothills, this sterling silver chain link bracelet combines dainty bowtie links with substantial double cable connections. Each bowtie is wrapped in solid sterling silver wire, introducing texture and structure before being joined to the next element with paired cable links.
Finished in bright, shiny sterling silver and secured with a forged clasp, the bracelet puts the focus on link-by-link construction and traditional chainmaking.
Form & Wearability
The bowtie links create the defining rhythm of the bracelet. Each is individually wrapped in sterling silver, adding dimensional detail around the narrower center of the form.
Double cable links connect the bowties, giving the bracelet additional movement and visual weight while maintaining the distinction of each individual link.
Built for a 7–7.5 inch wrist circumference, the bracelet is completed with a forged sterling silver clasp.
Material & Studio Practice
Chainmaking is one of the foundational disciplines practiced at the Sterling Roots bench. Rather than beginning with a finished commercial chain, this bracelet is constructed link by link from sterling silver.
The bowtie forms are built and wrapped individually, then connected through double cable links to create the finished chain. A forged clasp completes the construction, keeping the closure consistent with the hand-built character of the bracelet.
The bright finish leaves the sterling silver clean and reflective, allowing the different link forms and wrapped details to remain clearly visible.
