Crazy Lace Agate & Sun Rays Hand-Forged Sterling Silver Cuff

Hand-forged in the Adirondack foothills, this one-of-a-kind sterling silver cuff features a freeform, rose-cut Crazy Lace Agate set within a clean straight bezel. A deliberate overhang of the sterling silver backplate creates space for our signature hand-hammered sun ray marks, radiating outward from the stone and bringing another layer of traditional tool work to the setting.

Positioned at the top center of a single sterling silver cuff, the agate remains the focal point while hammered texture continues through the bracelet itself.

Form & Wearability

The freeform Crazy Lace Agate brings naturally varied pattern and color to the center of the wrist. Its rose-cut surface adds dimension, while the straight bezel provides a restrained silver frame around its irregular shape.

Beyond the bezel, the exposed backplate is finished with Sterling Roots' signature sun ray hammer marks. The marks radiate outward around the stone, creating texture directly in the metal rather than relying on additional embellishment.

The single cuff is also hand-hammered, carrying visible tool marks throughout the silver and tying the bracelet back to the central setting.

As made, this cuff fits a 6.25–6.75 inch wrist circumference and can be sized down to fit approximately a 6 inch wrist by request.

Material & Studio Practice

This artisan sterling silver cuff is built individually within our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools and hands-on fabrication techniques.

The freeform rose-cut Crazy Lace Agate is individually fitted within its straight bezel. The surrounding backplate is then worked by hand to create the radiating sun ray marks, while the single silver cuff receives its own hammered texture.

The finished piece is oxidized, allowing the darker patina to settle into the hammer marks and recessed areas and bring greater definition to the details created at the bench.
