Forged by hand in solid sterling silver, this one-of-a-kind pendant features two oval stones — kunzite and amethyst — set in a vertically aligned composition. Built in our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools, each element is shaped, set, and refined at the bench with disciplined metalwork.
The pairing of soft kunzite and rich amethyst creates contrast in tone, grounded in heirloom quality silver structure.
Form & Proportion
Measuring approximately 1.5 inches in length, the pendant carries a balanced vertical silhouette.
The two oval stones are stacked in alignment, creating a structured flow from top to bottom. A slight overhand in the setting introduces depth around each stone, drawing attention to their individual presence while maintaining cohesion.
A small sterling silver bead sits between the stones, adding a point of transition and subtle dimension. The backplate is formed to follow the contour of both stones, creating a fluid, unified shape.
Materials & Method
The kunzite and amethyst cabochons are individually selected for clarity and complementary color. Each is secured within a hand-formed scalloped bezel built from solid sterling silver.
The backplate is shaped to flow around the stones, reinforcing both structure and visual continuity. A small bead accent is integrated between the settings, adding refinement to the composition.
The pendant is oxidized and hand-finished to enhance contrast, bringing forward the contours of the bezels and the depth of the metalwork.
