Heavy-Duty Men’s Chevron Tapered Hand-Forged Sterling Silver Ring

Hand-forged in the Adirondack foothills, this heavy-duty men’s sterling silver ring is built from thick-gauge silver with a substantial profile across the top of the hand. A repeating chevron-like stamped pattern gives the surface its geometric character, while an oxidized finish brings definition and contrast into each individual mark.

The band measures approximately 3/8 inch wide across the top before tapering beneath the finger for a more comfortable fit—maintaining the presence of a heavy silver ring while reducing its width under the hand.

Form & Wearability

This ring is intentionally substantial, with thick sterling silver providing both its weight and visual presence. The wider upper section gives the chevron pattern room to travel across the surface, creating a straightforward design defined entirely through metal and traditional tool work.

Beneath the finger, the band gradually narrows. This tapered construction reduces bulk under the hand while preserving the heavier profile across the top.

This ring is a size 10 and cannot be resized.

Material & Studio Practice

Built individually at the Sterling Roots bench, this men’s ring is formed from heavy-gauge sterling silver using traditional silversmithing tools and hands-on fabrication techniques.

The chevron-like pattern is stamped into the silver, leaving permanent impressions from the tools used at the bench. Once formed and finished, the ring is oxidized so the darker patina settles into the recessed markings, emphasizing the repetition and depth of the geometric pattern.

With no stone or additional embellishment, the finished design is grounded in weight, proportion, pattern, and solid sterling silver.
