Men’s Textured Wide Band Hand-Forged Sterling Silver Ring

Hand-forged in the Adirondack foothills, this men’s sterling silver ring is built with a broad 7/16-inch profile and a softened hammered texture worked around the entirety of the band. Rather than crisp, uniform hammer marks, the surface has been deliberately softened to give the silver an intentionally worn, time-marked character.

Oxidation settles into the irregularities of the surface, further defining the texture and giving the substantial sterling silver greater depth.

Form & Wearability

Measuring approximately 7/16 inch wide, this ring has a strong presence across the finger. Hammered texture travels around the entire band, with the individual marks softened to create a surface that appears naturally worn rather than sharply patterned.

The ring is a size 10 and cannot be resized.

Because this is a wide band, fit differs from a narrower ring. The wearer should typically size up approximately 1/4 to 1/2 ring size from their usual size to accommodate the width. This should be considered when determining whether the fixed size 10 will provide the correct fit.

Material & Studio Practice

This men’s ring is built individually at the Sterling Roots bench using thick sterling silver, traditional silversmithing tools, and hands-on fabrication techniques.

The hammered surface is worked around the full circumference of the band and then softened, transforming individual tool marks into a more naturally worn texture. The final oxidized treatment brings darker tones into the irregularities of the silver and emphasizes the depth created through the process.

With no stone or added embellishment, the character of the ring comes entirely from metal, weight, texture, and handwork.
