Orange Crazy Lace Agate Flowing Sterling Silver Statement Necklace

This one-of-a-kind sterling silver necklace is built around movement. Two free-form, rose-cut Orange Crazy Lace Agates establish the center of the composition, with the lower stone suspended independently to create natural articulation. Sweeping asymmetrical silver forms extend outward from the upper stone, drawing from the movement and changing lines of flowing water.

Hand-forged 16-gauge infinity links carry the design around the neckline, giving this 19-inch statement necklace substantial structure while allowing the centerpiece to remain fluid and dimensional.

Scale & Substance

Measuring approximately 19 inches in total length, this necklace has a substantial presence across the neckline. The two Orange Crazy Lace Agates form a vertically layered centerpiece, while the flowing silver elements extend the composition outward before transitioning into the handmade chain.

The lower agate hangs freely from the upper setting, introducing movement directly into the centerpiece. As the necklace moves, the stone can articulate independently rather than remaining fixed within a rigid composition.

Stone & Material Character

Two free-form, rose-cut Orange Crazy Lace Agates sit at the center of the necklace. Their warm orange coloration, natural patterning, irregular outlines, and faceted rose-cut surfaces give each stone an individual character.

The stones are arranged vertically rather than symmetrically. The upper agate serves as the structural anchor, while the lower agate is suspended beneath it, allowing the natural forms of the stones to guide the composition.

Curved sterling silver elements emerge asymmetrically from the upper setting, their sweeping lines designed to echo the movement of flowing water.

Studio Process

This necklace is bench-forged silver, constructed component by component at the Sterling Roots studio. The centerpiece is built around the individual shapes of the two rose-cut agates before the asymmetrical curved silver elements are formed by hand to establish movement across the neckline.

From there, the necklace transitions into 16-gauge hand-forged infinity links. Each link is individually formed at the bench and connected with single sterling silver jump rings, creating an articulated chain with both strength and flexibility.

A hand-forged sterling silver clasp completes the necklace. The finished piece is oxidized and selectively refined, allowing the darker recesses to emphasize the forged contours, connections, and dimensional silverwork.
