Built with substantial silver and a strong, uncomplicated form, this one-of-a-kind sterling silver cuff features an oval Paraiba kyanite positioned at the top center of a heavy, hand-hammered band.

The stone is secured within a straight bezel, allowing its color and oval shape to stand against the textured sterling silver. The composition emphasizes the relationship between natural stone, visible hammer work, and the weight of traditionally forged metal.

Designed for a wrist circumference of approximately 6.75–7.25 inches, this cuff carries a substantial presence without unnecessary ornamentation.

Scale & Substance

This is a heavy sterling silver cuff bracelet, shaped to follow the wrist with a solid, substantial profile.

The oval Paraiba kyanite sits at the center of the upper band, establishing a clear focal point. Hammer marks extend across the silver, creating a textured surface that catches light at different angles while retaining the character of the metalwork.

The streamlined construction allows the stone and the forged silver to remain the defining elements.

Stone & Material Character

The centerpiece is an oval Paraiba kyanite, secured in a straight sterling silver bezel.

Its color provides contrast against the surrounding silver, while the simple bezel maintains a clean outline around the cabochon.

The heavy hammered band introduces surface variation through the direct impressions of traditional tools. These marks are intentional elements of the finished design, emphasizing the hand-forged construction rather than concealing it.

Studio Process

This cuff is bench-forged silver, individually built at the Sterling Roots studio using traditional silversmithing techniques.

The substantial sterling silver band is formed into a cuff and worked with a hammer to develop its textured surface. A straight bezel is individually formed for the oval Paraiba kyanite and positioned at the top center of the bracelet.

The assembled cuff is refined at the bench, with attention to the relationship between the stone setting, hammered surface, and overall proportions.
