Pink Mojave Turquoise Heart Hand-Forged Sterling Silver Pendant

This one-of-a-kind pendant features a lighter pink Mojave turquoise heart-shaped cabochon set in hand-forged sterling silver. The stone is secured within a serrated bezel and accented with a sculptural sterling silver wire detail that begins as a faux prong over the top of the stone before twisting around the heart. The wirework breaks and resumes along the lower edge, creating the appearance of a suspended drop of silver before extending beyond the point of the heart.

Built entirely at the bench in our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools, the pendant is oxidized to emphasize the movement, texture, and dimensional details within the silverwork.

Form & Proportion

The heart-shaped cabochon establishes the central form, while the wire accent deliberately moves beyond the boundaries of a traditional bezel setting. Beginning at the top as a faux prong, the silver twists along the perimeter before stopping in a rounded, droplet-like end.

A second section begins along the lower edge and extends beyond the heart's point, giving the otherwise familiar heart silhouette a more sculptural and asymmetrical profile.

Materials & Method

The pink Mojave turquoise cabochon is individually fitted within a hand-formed serrated sterling silver bezel. Sterling silver wire is then shaped around the stone to create the faux-prong and flowing perimeter details.

Each element is formed, fitted, soldered, and refined at the bench. Oxidation settles into the recessed areas of the serrated bezel and twisted wirework, creating contrast that makes the hand-built details more visible.

Collector Context

This pendant takes the recognizable heart form and gives it a less conventional profile through deliberate, free-moving silverwork. The faux prong, interrupted wire border, and extended lower detail become part of the composition rather than simply framing the stone. Built individually in our Adirondack studio, it is shaped once and not repeated, reflecting sculptural design, traditional silversmithing, and enduring heirloom quality silver.
