These purple and orange spiny oyster dangle earrings combine contrasting color, layered sterling silver construction, and articulated movement. Each hand-forged earring measures approximately 2¼ inches long, with a circular purple spiny oyster and a heart-shaped orange spiny oyster arranged beneath a sterling silver French wire.
The circular purple focal is positioned asymmetrically against a textured sterling silver concho. This offset placement reveals more of the tool-worked surface and prevents the upper portion from appearing overly uniform. Suspended beneath the concho, the orange spiny oyster is shaped into a heart and secured in a scalloped bezel.
Separate connections between the French wire, concho, and lower heart-shaped setting allow the components to move independently. The two-part drop also establishes a clear progression from the circular upper form to the tapered heart below.
Oxidation emphasizes the texture and recessed details, while the high-polish silver surfaces create contrast against the purple and orange focal materials. Hand-forged by Sterling Roots in the foothills of the Adirondacks, these earrings belong to the Signature Collection through their layered construction, distinctive material combination, articulated composition, and developed surface treatment.

Care
Store the earrings in a dry place when they are not being worn. Avoid prolonged contact with moisture, chlorine, household chemicals, cosmetics, and abrasive surfaces. Gently clean the raised silver surfaces with a soft jewelry-polishing cloth, avoiding the spiny oyster and aggressive polishing of the oxidized details.
