Black Obsidian Three-Bead Statement Pendant (One of a Kind) — Approximately 2 Inches

A thick black obsidian cabochon anchors this pendant and sets the pace for the build. The stone’s density and depth required a low, steady seat, shaping how the bezel was formed and how the backplate was resolved at the bench. Its surface remains quiet under light, holding a deep, even black rather than surface flash.

Three solid sterling silver beads are forged and set into the perimeter, spaced to counter the weight of the stone and stabilize the form in wear. Their placement was adjusted by hand until the pendant settled evenly on the chain without pull or rotation.

The bezel is serrated and worked directly to the stone’s edge, holding the obsidian securely without excess height. The backplate is forged thick for support, then refined to maintain balance without unnecessary weight.

This piece was forged and finished by working silversmiths using traditional tools. Built to be worn, handled, and used over time.
