Form & Proportion

Measuring approximately 2 inches in length, this pendant is designed as a statement piece with bold yet balanced scale.

The heart-shaped rainbow quartz anchors the composition, reflecting shifting tones of light across its surface. The surrounding silverwork is intentionally asymmetrical — three heart stamps align along one edge, while sunray textures move across the opposite side.

This asymmetry creates visual movement and directional flow, while a pronounced overhand backplate adds depth and structural presence behind the stone.

Materials & Method

The rainbow quartz heart is selected for its clarity and light-reactive surface, creating shifting tones as it moves through light. It is secured within a hand-formed scalloped bezel built from solid sterling silver.

An overhand backplate is forged beneath the stone, adding both strength and dimensional layering to the piece. Hand stamping is applied individually — heart motifs along one edge and sunray textures along the other — creating contrast and rhythm within the design.

The pendant is oxidized and hand-finished to emphasize depth, surface detail, and the sculptural quality of the metalwork.
