This one-of-a-kind sterling silver pendant is a Signature piece built with contrast, color, and sculptural balance. A deep purple sugilite stone anchors the design, set in a serrated bezel and framed by intentional silver elements — a hand-formed hummingbird and a cluster of bead accents positioned in opposition.
The composition is structured yet dynamic, balancing weight, movement, and detail within a compact 1.5-inch form. This is artisan silver jewelry shaped with precision and purpose at the bench.
Scale & Substance
Measuring approximately 1.5 inches in length, this pendant carries a strong, defined presence while remaining wearable across a range of chains.
The rectangular stone establishes a grounded vertical form, while the hummingbird detail at the upper corner introduces directional movement. Opposite, five sterling bead accents provide counterbalance, creating a composition that feels stable yet active.
This is bench-forged silver shaped to hold structure and visual tension.
Stone & Material Character
The sugilite stone displays a rich, saturated purple tone — dense and dimensional, with depth that shifts subtly in changing light. Its rectangular form provides a clean, strong foundation for the surrounding metalwork.
The serrated bezel frames the stone with texture and precision, reinforcing the edges while adding fine detail. The hummingbird element introduces organic form, contrasted by the structured placement of five sterling bead accents.
The oxidized finish deepens shadow across the metal, emphasizing contrast between the smooth stone surface and the detailed silver work.
Studio Process
The bezel was formed to fit the rectangular sugilite stone precisely, then serrated to introduce controlled texture. The stone was set securely before additional elements were constructed and applied.
The hummingbird was shaped and positioned at the upper corner, creating directional flow within the piece. Opposite, five bead accents were placed to establish visual balance and spacing.
Final oxidation and finishing refined depth and highlighted the dimensional relationship between all components.
This is disciplined metalwork shaped through traditional silversmithing techniques.
