This hand-forged sterling silver chain link bracelet features a series of short paperclip links, each individually worked with a hammered texture at its center. The concentrated texture creates contrast against the smooth surrounding silver while preserving the clean, structured repetition of the chain.
Finished in shiny sterling silver and completed with a hand-forged hammered clasp, the bracelet is built link by link at the bench in our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools.
Form & Proportion
Short paperclip links give this bracelet a tighter, more compact profile than a traditional elongated paperclip chain. Hammer texture is concentrated at the center of each link, creating a repeating pattern of smooth and worked silver around the wrist.
The open-link construction allows the clasp to connect at different points, providing an adjustable fit from approximately 6 to 7.5 inches.
Materials & Method
Each paperclip link is individually formed from solid sterling silver and worked at the center with intentional hammer texture. The links are then assembled and refined at the bench to create a continuous hand-forged chain.
A hammered, hand-forged clasp completes the bracelet, carrying the same visible tool work through to the closure. The shiny finish emphasizes both the smooth silver and the changing surfaces created by the hammer.
