This one-of-a-kind sterling silver pendant is built with commanding scale, sweeping movement, and layered hand-forged detail. A marquise-shaped turquoise runs north-south through the composition, framed by a substantial feather that follows the full length of the stone and a smaller feather positioned above. Flowing silverwork carries the design around the perimeter, giving the pendant a strong sculptural presence.
Positioned within the Signature tier, this statement pendant reflects disciplined bench-forged silver work and an intentional balance of natural stone, weight, and dimensional form.
Scale & Substance
Measuring approximately 2.75 inches in length, this pendant carries a substantial vertical presence. The elongated marquise turquoise establishes the central line of the design, while the large feather follows one edge from top to bottom, broadening the silhouette and adding dimensional depth.
The feather stem continues around the perimeter of the pendant, creating a flowing framework that visually connects the stone, feather work, and silver accents into one cohesive structure.
Stone & Material Character
The centerpiece is a genuine marquise-shaped turquoise positioned north-south to emphasize its elongated natural form. A corrugated bezel surrounds the stone, adding texture and definition to the setting.
Along one edge, a large hand-forged feather sweeps from the top of the turquoise toward its lower point. A second, smaller feather sits near the top, creating another layer of detail within the composition.
The stem of the primary feather extends around the perimeter of the pendant before terminating in two solid sterling silver bead accents, giving the flowing line a deliberate and substantial finish.
Studio Process
This pendant is bench-forged silver, constructed through detailed handwork at the Sterling Roots studio bench. The corrugated bezel is formed specifically for the turquoise, while each feather is individually shaped and refined to establish dimension, movement, and natural contour.
The primary feather stem is extended around the composition to become an integral structural and visual element of the pendant. Solid silver bead accents are positioned at its termination, completing the flow of the design with weight and balance.
