This one-of-a-kind ring features a freeform rose-cut Crazy Lace Agate with an intricate matrix of white, orange, and gray moving throughout the stone. Set in hand-forged sterling silver, the cabochon is secured within a clean straight bezel and framed by a finely twisted sterling silver rope accent around its perimeter. A simple single shank keeps the form balanced while allowing the detailed pattern within the agate to remain the focus.

Built entirely at the bench in our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools, this ring pairs an unusually intricate natural stone with refined, heirloom quality silver.

Form & Proportion

The freeform outline follows the natural shape of the Crazy Lace Agate rather than forcing the stone into a standardized form. Its rose-cut surface adds dimension, while the intricate white, orange, and gray matrix creates movement and fine detail across the cabochon.

The twisted rope border closely follows the perimeter of the stone, providing a defined transition between the naturally complex agate and the clean single shank.

Materials & Method

The Crazy Lace Agate is individually fitted within a hand-formed straight bezel. Finely twisted sterling silver rope wire is formed around the perimeter, adding texture while preserving the stone as the primary visual element.

Each component is formed, fitted, soldered, and refined at the bench using traditional silversmithing techniques.
