This one-of-a-kind ring features a substantial oval Wild Horse Jasper set in hand-forged sterling silver. Built in our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools, the stone is positioned north-south and framed in a scalloped bezel that follows its elongated form. Beneath the setting, a wrapped split shank brings structure and movement to the silverwork while keeping the naturally patterned jasper at the center of the design.
Form & Proportion
The Wild Horse Jasper measures over 1 inch in length, giving this ring a strong vertical presence across the hand. Its north-south orientation emphasizes the elongated oval shape and provides ample space for the stone's naturally occurring earthy patterning to stand forward.
The sterling silver band splits and wraps beneath the setting, creating a more dimensional profile than a traditional single shank while providing a balanced foundation for the larger stone.
Materials & Method
Forged from solid sterling silver, the ring is formed and refined entirely at the bench. A scalloped bezel is individually shaped around the oval Wild Horse Jasper, adding subtle texture and definition to the perimeter. The split shank is hand-formed and wrapped into position before the components are joined using traditional silversmithing techniques.
